Clauson could run additional IndyCar races with Sarah Fisher
Indianapolis 500 rookie Bryan Clauson could run additional IndyCar races later in the season if his Indy debut goes well, according to Sarah Fisher Hartman team owner Sarah Fisher
Clauson, who came out of the same USAC Sprint Car scene that produced 1997 IndyCar champion and three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart, will race a second Sarah Fisher car at Indy alongside team full-timer and fellow rookie Josef Newgarden, and Fisher said that she was already looking into the prospect of expanding his schedule.
"It's a big picture thing," she said. "How you do at Indy, what kind of programmes we can put in place, what sponsorships we can put in place. We're still a small team, but we believe in great people.
"Bryan fits that family culture that we have. He fits that perfectly. We believe in Bryan. So we'll work really, really hard to put something together as the year unfolds. If we come out of Indy with some cars, it makes it a lot easier, quite frankly, to put another race in place as we go down the line.
"Certainly we believe in the programme a hundred per cent and we believe in his abilities. We're going to continue to work hard to grow both programmes."
