Will Power relieved to get DW12 IndyCar's debut race out of way

The Australian, who set pole for last week's season-opener and was quickest in opening practice at Barber on Friday, said that having had the chance to work with the new car in race conditions last week put him more at ease for round two.

"It's more relaxing now, actually," Power said. "I think I was quite tense going into St Pete, not knowing where we were at. [Now], you know the car a bit better, you understand where you stack up as far as the engine and chassis and everything."

Power was one of several drivers not to venture onto the track during Friday afternoon's rain-affected second practice session, but based on the running he was able to do in the morning, he believes that the team has started the weekend in good stead.

"We came here with what we thought we needed [in terms of set-up] and then sort of worked on it, so we should be in good shape," he said. "We seem to have a good set-up. We were quick in St Pete was well; we've just got to get the most out of the race."
