Sergio Campana leads Auto GP testing as Kumho rubber makes debut
Sergio Campana set the pace in the first official Auto GP test of the 2012 season at Monza
The 2011 Italian Formula 3 champion, who was driving for new team MLR71, set his benchmark time of 1m36.875s on a qualifying simulation late on Friday, as all the cars present were fitted with the new Kumho rubber that will be used in the series this year.
Russian teenager Sergey Sirotkin, the 2011 European Formula Abarth champion, was an impressive second fastest, less than a tenth of a second behind, for Euronova.
Norwegian Pal Varhaug - Romain Grosjean's 2011 GP2 team-mate - was third for Virtuosi UK, with Victor Guerin (Supernova) and Facu Regalia (Campos) completing the top five.
Giacomo Ricci (Zele) and Adrian Quaife-Hobbs (Supernova), who have wins in respectively GP2 and GP3 to their names, were sixth and seventh. Giuseppe Cipriani (Campos), Zoel Amberg (Virtuosi) and Daniel de Jong (Manor/MP) rounded out the top 10.
