Macau GP winner Daniel Juncadella stays on in F3 Euro Series with Prema Powerteam

Macau Grand Prix winner Daniel Juncadella will compete in the F3 Euro Series for a third straight season in 2012

The Spaniard took the biggest victory of his racing career at the Macau Grand Prix late last year after having finished in third place in the standings in the Euro Series.

Although he said after his Macau win that he was considering stepping up to GP2, he announced on Tuesday he will continue in the F3 Euro Series for another season with the Prema Powerteam.

"I am really looking forward to 2012. It will be my third year with the team and it's great to sign again with them," said Juncadella. "I'm sure that together we will work to achieve our goals. Especially the main one: win the Formula 3 Euro Series.

"The choice of Formula 3 Euro Series was an obvious one for me, it is where I am sure I can find the best possible support from the Team, the series organizers and mainly from Mercedes-Benz and HWA Mercedes.

"HWA Mercedes have been very supporting throughout my racing in Formula 3 and by common agreement we decided to continue working together for maximum success."

Prema will line up with four Dallara-Mercedes cars this year and said it will announce its full line-up soon.

Team boss Angelo Rosin added: "Being able to have Daniel back is a major satisfaction for us as it enables us to keep following the guy's growth project started back in 2010. The Spaniard is now one of the brightest prospects of the international motorsports panorama.

"In the two seasons he raced with us he proved to have improved consistently as he managed to add a valuable degree of race-by-race experience to his natural speed skills. He managed to get some outstanding wins in the Euro Series as well as the sensational win at Macau."
