Ryan Briscoe believes Penske's three-car attack will be an advantage with the new car

Teams have been permitted to carry out more testing this winter as they get up to speed with the Dallara DW12 chassis and new engines from Honda, Chevrolet and Lotus. And Briscoe feels that he, Will Power, and Helio Castroneves will be able help Penske get up to speed quickly.

"It's going to be an extremely steep rate of development," Briscoe told the official IndyCar website. "The car is so different from last year's model; it takes a lot of tuning and we have just touched the surface.

"This will be the first time that we can really take advantage of us being a three car team. The more track time we can get the more we can keep learning. The more we can test the quicker our development rate will be."

Several teams are testing at Sebring this week, and Penske will spend Monday and Tuesday in action as it continues to work through the basics on the new car.

"We have been figuring out what aero configurations and geometries we need to use," Briscoe added. "[This week] we'll be back at Sebring and working hard on the cars."
