Arabadzhiev wins Auto GP race two

Vladimir Arabadzhiev scored the biggest win of his career to date by triumphing in the second Auto GP race at Brno

The DAMS driver out-sprinted poleman Adrian Zaugg and held on, despite tremendous pressure, for a well-earned win.

Zaugg was slow away, but defended second resolutely into the first corner. Initially he dropped back from the leader, but the Trident man put on a charge in the second half of the race, and was under half a second behind at the flag.

Adrien Tambay looked set for third, but the Charouz-Gravity driver shunted on the final lap, handing a champagne-spraying slot to the second DAMS entry of Edoardo Piscopo.

Julian Leal drove a storming race to come home fourth and make it a strong showing for Trident.

The bright yellow Charouz cars of Walter Grubmuller and Jan Charouz came home fifth and sixth, ahead of the Super Nova pair of Jonny Reid and Giorgio Pantano, who ran line astern as they worked their way from the back into the minor points-paying positions. They finished seventh and ninth in the end, split by Durango's Carlos Iaconelli.

Race one winner Luca Filippi was never a factor, and a late pitstop meant the Euronova man was the last of the classified finishers.
