H4: Peugeot strengthens Le Mans lead

Peugeot's grip on the early stages of the Le Mans 24 Hours tightened in the fourth hour of the race as the #8 car further extended its lead

Franck Montagny handed the car over to Stephane Sarrazin, who set the pole position time on Thursday, five minutes into the hour and Sarrazin continued to edge clear of the #9 car in second place.

David Brabham is now on board the #9 908, having taken over from Marc Gene, and is now nearly a minute ahead of Marco Werner's #2 Audi. Werner is briefly running second before coming in for a scheduled stop, but is being reeled in by Rinaldo Capello in the #1 Audi.

The Lola Aston Martins have switched places with Tomas Enge taking fifth place for the #007 car from Jos Verstappen's #008 machine, but the pair are separated by just four seconds on track.

Simon Pagenaud is continuing his chase of the two Aston Martin Racing cars and has now trimmed the gap to under one and a half minutes.

Timo Bernhard is now among the two Kolles-run Audi R10s in ninth place, as the #3 R15 continues its recovery from Alexandre Premat's third-lap crash.

Casper Elgaard still leads the LMP2 class in the Team Essex Porsche RS Spyder. Keisuke Kunimoto has taken over the Team Goh Porsche and is circulating one minute behind Elgaard.

The GT1 battle between the works Corvettes is still led by the #63 car, with Antonio Garcia taking on driving duties from Johnny O'Connell. Marcel Fassler is now aboard the #64 car and is half a minute down the road in second place.

The GT2 class lead has changed once more, with Raymond Narac taking the IMSA Porsche into a narrow lead over the Flying Lizards 911. The Risi Competizione Ferrari 430 is still third in class but is now over a minute adrift of the Porsches.
