Kerr takes Brands pole for Team GBR

The British driver, took the top spot by just 0.002s from Jonathan Summerton, who put the USA entry on the front row in the final moments of the session.

Kerr's 1:14.424 lap was the fastest of the weekend so far and emulated his performance at his home track 12 months ago.

Championship contenders Switzerland were third fastest with Neel Jani setting a 1:14.772 ahead of Adam Carroll's Team Ireland car. Jani just needs to finish seventh or higher in either race tomorrow to seal the crown.

Narain Karthikeyan was fifth quickest while New Zealand, Switzerland's only rivals for the title, were 10th on the grid.
