Wurz happy to be at Williams
Alexander Wurz enjoyed his first outing with the Williams team on Wednesday and says he is happy to be driving for the team from Grove
The Austrian made his debut with the team at the Jerez circuit after having spent the last five years as a McLaren test driver.
Wurz, who only took to the track in the afternoon and whose car stopped on track with an apparent mechanical problem, said the session was like a first day at school.
"It was learning day for me and for the team," Wurz told autosport.com. "I want to find out how the car is and I want them to find out how I think.
"It is like in a new class in a new school, there is more challenge and there is no problem with the car," added Wurz, who was still not perfectly comfortable inside the Williams.
"I still have to modify a bit in the seating position but it is a few millimetres here and there," he said. "It was the first time in the car and probably we can modify the seat a bit before Friday.
"Certain aspects are similar and certain aspects different, I am happy to be here."
Wurz will not test today, but will be back in action on Friday.
Williams technical director Sam Michael was also happy with the team's new addition.
"Alex is a fantastic addition to the team and has fitted in well immediately," he said.
