Three Drivers Given Time Penalties
Twenty five seconds were added to the race time of Olivier Pla, Ferdinando Monfardini and Can Artam as a result of technical infringements during race two in Istanbul today
The time penalties were handed to the drivers because they failed to have all four tyres on their cars with five minutes remaining before the start of the race, as specified in the rules.
The race was due to start at 11:00 local time but was delayed by fifteen minutes after rain started just before the race was due to start, so as to allow the team to modify their set ups to run in the wet.
But despite the delay, the three drivers did not have all four tyres on their cars five minutes before the new start time.
Monfardini is unaffected by the penalty as he was classified last, while Artam and Pla each move back one place, to sixteenth and seventeenth respectively.
Pla's two points for setting fastest lap were unaffected, and no changes were made to the Championship standings.
