Davidson: 'I was so scared'
Anthony Davidson has admitted that the aftermath of his Macau Grand Prix crash was one of the most scariest experiences of his life
The Formula 1 test driver, who has been forced to pull out of the race because of his injuries, suffered a fracture vertebrae and torn neck ligaments in the crash during qualifying.
"I remember the car spinning around and I braced myself for the rear impact by pulling my head forwards," Davidson told autosport.com. "When the car came to a halt I think human survival impact took over as I jummped out the car and jumped over the barriers.
"But then when I sat down I started to feel really strange. I didn't know where I was, I didn't even know whether I had been out on the track and I got really confused. I must have blacked out for 10 minutes because the next thing I remember is waking up in the ambulance."
He added: "It was pretty scary and perhaps the scariest experience I have had in motor racing. I have had big crashes before but nothing like this."
Davidson has been told that he must wear a neck brace until he has fully recovered, which could take up to six weeks.
