Former Jaguar FE driver Carroll to race for TWR in Berlin I-PACE round

Former Jaguar ABB FIA Formula E driver Adam Carroll will race the TWR Techeetah team's entry for the Jaguar I-PACE eTrophy round in Berlin

Carroll competed for Jaguar during the 2016/17 FE season but managed just five points compared to team-mate Mitch Evans's 22 in a difficult maiden season for the team.

The 2009 A1GP champion was replaced by Nelson Piquet Jr the following season and has not raced at an international level since, although he took part in the European Ferrari Challenge series earlier this year.

Carroll replaces Stefan Rzadzinski at Techeetah one round after the Canadian was involved in a collision in which he pitched Katherine Legge into the wall early in the series' Monaco race.

"I'm excited to be back in electric racing, having played a key role in the development of Jaguar's Formula E car when they entered the series," said Carroll.

"It is an honour to drive for such an iconic team as TWR, and I can't wait to show what I can do in the Jaguar I-PACE."

A press release did not confirm if Carroll would remain in the car beyond Berlin, but team principal Keith Smout thanked Rzadzinski for his two podium finishes in the series this year.

"Adam brings a wealth of experience to the team and we are looking forward to seeing what he can do in this highly competitive Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY," said Smout.

"We'd like to thank departing driver Stefan Rzadzinski for the role he played in delivering our first podiums in the series and wish him the very best for the future."

The Berlin round will also feature a second newcomer in journalist Jens Dralle, who fills the VIP car this weekend. Anthony Beltoise, the son of 1972 Monaco Grand Prix winner Jean-Pierre, drove the entry in Monaco a fortnight ago.
