Phillip Island Supercars: McLaughlin leads DJR Penske Ford one-two
Scott McLaughlin scored his seventh win in nine Supercars races in the Phillip Island opener, leading Fabian Coulthard in a DJR Team Penske Ford one-two
Both McLaughlin and Coulthard will be investigated post-race over a possible pitlane infringement, amid a suggestion the cars did not have their line lockers - or handbrakes - engaged during stops.
McLaughlin controlled the race throughout, crossing the line 1.2 seconds ahead of Coulthard.
Nissan driver Andre Heimgartner took the final podium spot, jumping team-mate Rick Kelly during the pitstops.
David Reynolds came through from 12th on the grid to fourth in a sensational drive, ahead of Chaz Mostert, Shane van Gisbergen - who was involved in a clash with Cam Waters that ended the Tickford Ford's race - and Kelly.
The race featured a safety car at half-distance when Jamie Whincup's Triple Eight Holden lost its right front wheel after a pitstop.
Whincup had only qualified 17th, citing a simple lack of pace.
