Lamborghini World Finals: Mul earns pole for North America finale
Jeroen Mul took pole position for the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America finale at Imola after topping Thursday second qualifying session
The 27-year-old Change Racing driver took top spot shortly after the session was restarted following a red flag because Sheena Monk's Lamborghini Huracan was off the track at the Villeneuve Chicane.
He made several improvements, posting his best lap of 1m41.570s with just over five minutes of the session remaining.
A full-course yellow deployed with three minutes remaining after Cameron Cassels went off at the Villeneuve Chicane made improvements in the closing stages difficult - although the green flag did return for the final minute.
Trent Hindman, whose Prestige Performance co-driver Riccardo Agostini earlier took pole for race one, was half-a-second off Mul in second place.
But he was four-tenths clear of third-placed Brandon Gdovic, with the leading Am class car of Yuki Harata in fourth.
Taylor Proto, who shares with Edoardo Piscopo, was the best of the Pro-Am class drivers in fifth place, 1.680s off pole.
Katherine Legge, sharing with Michele Beretta, was sixth fastest ahead of Austin Versteeg.
JC Perez was fastest of the Lamborghini Cup drivers in eighth place.
