Voting process opened for Autosport Awards 2017

The voting process for the Autosport Awards 2017 is now open

Autosport Awards

The Autosport Awards are a series of awards presented by motor racing magazine Autosport to drivers that have achieved significant milestones each season. Some of the presentations are selected by the general public via a reader's poll.

A total of nine categories are open for voting, including the International Racing Driver - won in 2016 by Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg - Racing Car and British Competition Driver of the Year awards.

Six drivers have been nominated for the International Racing Driver award, with Fernando Alonso, respective Formula E and IndyCar champions Lucas di Grassi and Josef Newgarden, current F1 points leader Lewis Hamilton and title rival Sebastian Vettel plus Red Bull's Max Verstappen all up for the prize.

Alonso is also a contender for the Rookie of the Year award after making his Indianapolis 500 debut in May.

This year's Autosport Awards will be held on Sunday December 3 at the Grosvenor Hotel in London.

The winner of the coveted McLaren Autosport BRDC Award, which last year was won by McLaren junior Lando Norris, will also be revealed on the night.

Enaam Ahmed, Max Fewtrell, Harrison Scott and Dan Ticktum have all been nominated for the 2017 award.
