Strakka shuffles McLaren Blancpain GT line-up after injury
McLaren factory driver Alvaro Parente will return to the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup with the Strakka team at Silverstone later his month
The Portuguese, who is contesting the BGTS Sprint Cup with the works-backed Strakka squad this season, will contest the British event on May 14 after a line-up reshuffle triggered by injuries sustained by team owner Nick Leventis in last month's Monza series opener.
Parente, a two-time race winner in Blancpain enduros, will join Lewis Williamson in the #42 McLaren 650S GT3 along with World Endurance Championship driver Oliver Webb, who has been brought into the line-up after signing to race for Strakka at the Spa 24 Hours in July.
Briton Craig Fleming, the regular partner of Williamson and Leventis, will miss Silverstone and the car will be reclassified as a Pro class entry.
Webb will race alongside Fleming, Williamson and Leventis at Spa.
David Fumanelli will move over from Strakka's endurance line-up to take Leventis's place alongside Williamson for this weekend's BGTS Sprint Cup round at Brands Hatch.
Leventis, 37, sustained knee injuries in an accident at the Ascari chicane during free practice for last month's Monza event.
The injury, which prevented him from taking part in the race in the rebuilt car, has turned out to be worse than expected and he will now also miss the next two BGTS rounds.
He is scheduled to be fit to take part in the Zolder sprint at the start of June.
