Felix Rosenqvist to make Le Mans 24 Hours debut
Formula E and Super Formula driver Felix Rosenqvist will make his Le Mans 24 Hours debut in June with the DragonSpeed LMP2 squad
The Swede, who races for Mahindra in FE and Team Le Mans in Super Formula in Japan, will race the DragonSpeed ORECA-Gibson 07 alongside Ben Hanley and Henrik Hedman in the centrepiece round of the World Endurance Championship on June 17-18.
Rosenqvist, who has previously raced sportscars in IMSA's Prototype Challenge class in the US and in the Blancpain GT Series, is joining the team after a successful try-out in the ORECA at Silverstone earlier this week.
He takes the seat filled in DragonSpeed's line-up for the European Le Mans Series by Nicolas Lapierre, who was scheduled to drive for the Signatech Alpine WEC squad before his recall to Toyota.
DragonSpeed team boss Elton Julian told Autosport: "Felix is clearly one of the best young drivers on the planet.
"We gave him a couple of runs at the test and he has already shown his class.
"Pairing him with Ben Hanley gives us one of the strongest line-ups to support Henrik's first Le Mans."
Toyota development driver Ryo Hirakawa has been confirmed in the second DragonSpeed-entered car, which runs under the G-Drive Racing banner, for Le Mans.
His team-mates in the ELMS, Memo Rojas and Leo Roussel, look set to continue in the car at the 24 Hours.
