Sarrazin to contest 2017 Daytona 24 Hours with Rebellion Racing
Toyota driver Stephane Sarrazin will join fellow World Endurance Championship LMP1 racers Sebastien Buemi and Neel Jani in Rebellion Racing's entry for next month's Daytona 24 Hours
The Frenchman will drive the Anglo-Swiss squad's solo ORECA-Gibson 07 LMP2 in the IMSA SportsCar Championship opener on January 28/29 together with Buemi, Jani and team regular Nick Heidfeld.
Sarrazin, who was team-mates with Heidfeld at the Venturi team in the 2014/15 Formula E season, said he was "happy to be part of this new challenge with Rebellion Racing at Daytona".
He added: "The driver line-up is high-level and I think we have all the assets to do a good job."
Sarrazin will be making his second start at Daytona, having previously raced in the 2013 event at the start of season in the North American Grand-Am series with the 8Star Motorsports squad.
Rebellion, which announced its departure from the LMP1 privateer ranks of the WEC in October, will contest the four long-distance races at Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta that make up the North American Endurance Cup segment of the IMSA series.
The outfit has yet to confirm its primary programme in 2017 with its pair of ORECA 07 P2s.
