Slovakia Blancpain: Series leader Buhk's suspension frustrates HTP
Blancpain Sprint Series points leader Maximilian Buhk's suspension from this weekend's Slovakia Ring event has been questioned by his HTP Motorsport squad
Buhk's suspension follows an incident at the ADAC GT Masters series event at the same circuit two weeks ago.
The 21-year-old, who leads the BSS with regular team-mate Maximilian Gotz, parked his Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG after sustaining a puncture late in the second ADAC race and failed to comply with instructions from the marshals to move the car.
His licence has been withdrawn pending a tribunal organised by the German national sporting authority, the DMSB.
HTP team manager Norbert Bruckner said: "Max for sure did something wrong, but we do not believe that the punishment fits the crime.
"It is out of proportion, because it affects his participation in another championship."
Buhk and HTP believed the situation could be resolved in time for this weekend's fourth round of the BSS and the German was present at the Slovakia Ring on Thursday ahead of the start of the meeting on Friday.
He has now been substituted by HTP Blancpain Endurance Series regular Nico Verdonck, who arrived at the circuit on Friday morning.
Buhk also leads the Blancpain GT Series, which is based on points scored in the BSS and BES.
