Moscow European F3: Esteban Ocon takes double pole
European Formula 3 championship leader Esteban Ocon qualified on pole for races two and three in the second qualifying session at Moscow Raceway
Ocon, who won from pole in race one, is on course to dominate the weekend as he produced a time 0.3 seconds quicker than Prema team-mate Antonio Fuoco.
Third fastest Tom Blomqvist was the only other driver to set a time below 1m28s, and qualified highest of the Carlin cars.
Ocon's championship rival Max Verstappen, whose run of six consecutive victories ended in the first Moscow race, starts fourth for the second race of the weekend.
Lucas Auer did well to qualify sixth and lines up ahead of the Carlin duo of Jordan king and Jake Dennis.
Dennis van der Laar was the early pacesetter, but he only managed eighth overall.
Behind in ninth was Felix Rosenqvist who will feel he could have challenged for higher and Nicholas Latifi rounded out the top ten for race two.
With the second fastest times determining the starting grid for race three, Ocon again topped the order, with his time narrowly edging Blomqvist by 0.05s.
Verstappen will look to gain ground from third for race three and put his championship back on track. Fuoco, who starts second in race two will be further down in fourth for the third race.
There was little to separate King and Dennis throughout the day, and their second best times continued that trend - Dennis recording a lap just 0.009s down on King.
Auer and van der Laar will start seventh and eighth, with Van Amersfoot's Gustavo Menezes showing good pace for his ninth place grid slot ahead of Rosenqvist.
