Aston Martin duo Darren Turner, Pedro Lamy get Spa 24 Hours seats

Aston Martin factory drivers Darren Turner and Pedro Lamy have been placed with two of the British manufacturer's customers for next month's Spa 24 Hours

Turner and Lamy will race respectively for the MP Motorsport and Leonard Motorsport teams, whose Pro-Am class V12 Vantages are run by Aston Martin Racing, in the blue-riband round of the Blancpain Endurance Series on July 26/27.

Turner will join Aston junior driver Richard Abra and his regular partners, Joe Osborne and Mark Poole in the MP car, while Lamy teams up with Stuart Leonard, Paul Wilson and Michael Meadows.

Stefan Mucke, Turner's partner at AMR in the World Endurance Championship, had already been confirmed with the Beechdean AMR squad alongside fellow Aston factory driver Jonny Adam, team boss Andrew Howard and Daniel Lloyd.

The other two AMR-contracted drivers, Bruno Senna and Richie Stanaway, are both unavailable for Spa courtesy of their respective TV and GP3 commitments.

AMR boss John Gaw said: "We weren't able to put together a fully-pro car, but we now have three very competitive pro-am entries that should each be capable of winning the class."

For two-time Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion Meadows, Spa will be his first international sportscar start.

"It's a great opportunity: it's my first proper race in GTs and I don't want it to be a one off," said the 26-year-old.

AMR will also run the PGF-Kinfaun Vantage raced in the British GT Championship by Gaw and Phil Dryburgh in the Gentlemen Trophy class at Spa.

ZANDVOORT GRID GROWS

The grid for this weekend's Blancpain Sprint Series round at Zandvoort has been boosted by an entry from ADAC GT Masters regular Herberth Motorsport.

Its Porsche 911 GT3-R will be raced by Jaap van Lagen and Robert Renauer.

The grid will remain at 20 cars because Fortec has been unable to put together a deal to run both its Mercedes-Benz SLS AMGs for the first time since the series opener at Nogaro in April.
