Hungaroring Auto GP: Ghirelli fastest on Auto GP return
Auto GP champion Vittorio Ghirelli announced his return to the series with the fastest time in Friday practice at the Hungaroring
The Italian is racing in Indy Lights this season, but has rejoined his Auto GP squad Super Nova to race its third car in Hungary this weekend.
Ghirelli played himself back in with fourth in the morning session, which was topped by his team-mate Markus Pommer.
The Super Nova duo then swapped the top spot in afternoon practice, with Ghirelli coming out fastest on a 1m34.436s.
Euronova driver Kimiya Sato then got between the two Super Nova cars to take second, 0.253 seconds down on Ghirelli.
Gianluca Roda and crowd favourite Tamas Pal Kiss completed the top five. The latter had been second fastest on home turf in the morning, between Pommer and Sato.
