WRT to field four Audis in 2014 Blancpain Sprint Series
The championship-winning WRT Audi squad is expanding to four cars for the defence of its title in this year's Blancpain Sprint Series
WRT will split its assault on the championship known last year as the FIA GT Series into what are being described as two separate team structures, which will each field a pair of Audi R8 LMS ultras.
The two teams will between them run three all-pro line-ups and one car in the Silver Cup, a sub-class for silver-rated drivers under 25 years of age.
WRT boss Vincent Vosse said: "We have a lot of new people in terms of engineers and mechanics, and I am confident that it will be the strongest team WRT has ever had, stronger even than the past two years."
The names of the two teams have yet to be decided, but Vosse explained that 'WRT' would feature in both.
WRT will also continue to race in the Blancpain Endurance Series, meaning it will be able to compete for the overall Blancpain GT Series title.
GT series combine for new Blancpain title
It will field three cars full-time in the series - two in the pro class and one in pro-am - and, as last year, make an additional entry for the Spa 24 Hours round in July.
The driver line-up for both championships is due to be announced on February 27.
