WTCC 2014 Marrakech opener put back one week
This year's World Touring Car Championship will start one week later than planned after the opening Marrakech round was deferred by seven days
The North African street circuit will host the championship's curtain raiser for the first time this year.
It was originally slated to hold the event on April 6, two weeks before the championship heads to Paul Ricard, France, for the second round.
The delay - prompted by a request from Moroccan authorities - means there will now be just one week between the opening two rounds.
Such a tight turnaround could prove a headache for teams already struggling to get their new-regulation machines and enough spare parts ready for the early rounds.
The rest of the 2014 calendar remains unchanged.
