VW walks out of World Rally Championship Commission future talks
Volkswagen walked out of last week's World Rally Championship Commission, which ended in disquiet and achieved little resolution on the sport's future
While there has been no official comment from the FIA, the WRC's promoters or the teams since the Geneva meeting, AUTOSPORT has learned that there were several disagreements.
One related to the development of the series' commercial side, with teams having hoped to hear more news from the championship promoters.
There was also a clash over a proposal to change the running order regulations for 2014, which ended with Volkswagen motorsport chief Jost Capito departing the meeting.
The German team has consistently argued against changing the running order format, and abstained from a vote to start the cars in championship order for days one and two before reversing the classification on the final day of every WRC round in 2014.
That proposal will now go forward to the World Motor Sport Council for ratification next month.
A source told AUTOSPORT: "It's fair to say this wasn't the most productive Commission meeting.
"There's a real feeling that there simply isn't enough communication on matters which are key to the future of our sport.
"We still don't have answers on key questions about the future."
The WRC promoter will meet with the teams again in Wales on Wednesday.
