Caterham protege Will Stevens ponders GP2/FR3.5 choice for 2014
Caterham junior Will Stevens believes he will race in either Formula Renault 3.5 or GP2 in 2014 after finishing fourth in the FR3.5 standings this season
The Briton took five podiums this year for P1 by Strakka Racing, two of which came during the final round at Barcelona to move him back up to fourth position.
Stevens, who now has two years of FR3.5 under his belt, says that he and Caterham will look closely at his options for 2014.
"It's difficult to know what to do next year," Stevens told AUTOSPORT.
"We have the affiliation with Caterham so we'll be working closely with them to see what we want to do.
"It's either this or GP2, those are the only places we can go."
Having finished the season on a high note, which included being the only driver to challenge 2013 champion Kevin Magnussen last weekend, Stevens said that he would be in very good shape for a title push if he stayed in FR3.5.
"If we did another year of World Series we'd be extremely competitive and hopefully we could have the consistency that Kevin's had," he said.
"Kevin is probably the highest-rated driver outside of Formula 1 at the moment so for me to be giving him a run for his money shows what we can do.
"The level here is so high. We just need to put it all together in a season and go and win a championship.
"But we need to see if we need to step across to GP2 or stay where we are. At the moment we're not sure."
