Felipe Massa sure Ferrari now back on track after Belgian GP result

Felipe Massa has faith that Ferrari has got its 2013 Formula 1 title challenge back on course after new updates helped produce a step forward at the Belgian Grand Prix

The Maranello-based team had endured a frustrating period where fresh correlation problems between the factory and track had resulted in its form stalling.

But tweaks introduced at Spa-Francorchamps, which included a new low-drag front wing, delivered exactly what was expected and helped Fernando Alonso emerge as Sebastian Vettel's nearest challenger.

Massa believes the Spa progress was a huge encouragement and that if the team can continue the momentum to the next race at Monza then it can look forward to a stronger second half to the campaign.

"I think we still need to keep working - put new parts on the car and try to make the car more competitive," explained the Brazilian.

"We missed some opportunities and some races where the bits were not working, and we lost a little bit of time.

"But with the car [in Belgium], everything we brought we were using - so I hope we can carry on in this direction. If we do that the car will be better.

"From now to the end of the races, we can be more competitive than we were in the first part of the season."
