Four drivers to try Team Hard's British Touring Car Vauxhall

British Touring Car squad Team Hard will run four drivers in its second Vauxhall Insignia at this week's official series test as it looks to fill the seat for the rest of the season

BTCC rookie James Cole parted company with the outfit last week and team boss Tony Gilham confirmed "there's been a lot of interest" from possible replacements to race alongside Tom Onslow-Cole and Jack Goff.

Ex-single-seater racer Howard Fuller, current S2000 runner Joe Girling and American Robb Holland will all drive the car at Snetterton this week.

Warren Scott, who announced last week he will switch to a Team Hard-built Volkswagen Passat for the rest of 2013, will also test the Insignia.

"Robb is penciled in for [the next BTCC round at] Snetterton - he's interested in doing that," Gilham told AUTOSPORT. "Warren's doing the test to get some NGTC experience.

"After that it depends on how various deals pan out for the rest of the season."

The Insignia's best result so far in 2013 is a ninth, scored by Goff at Thruxton, but Gilham believes it should be capable of running with the Passat, which has already scored three podiums in the hands of Onslow-Cole.

"We're desperate to prove the Insignia is a good car," he added. "It's pretty much identical to the Passat so there is no reason it shouldn't be quick."

Gilham did not rule out running Fuller, who had initially been scheduled to race the second Passat, in the Insignia later in the season. The building of a third Passat is also a possibility.

Both Onslow-Cole's Passat and the second Insignia will also run with new liveries at the Snetterton test.
