Sebastien Loeb 'feels ready' for Pikes Peak after latest test

Sebastien Loeb drove the complete Pikes Peak Hill Climb course for the first time at his latest test, and the Frenchman says he now feels ready for the competition

Prior to the latest test sessions, run over the weekend, Loeb and his 208 T16 Pikes Peak had only tackled the 12.42-mile climb in sections.

"I never had a chance to drive the whole mountain before - just sections of it - so the work we did on Friday, when we could go from the very bottom all the way to the top, was a really good taste of what was to come," said Loeb.

The nine-time world rally champion has not had to change the set-up of the Peugeot since the first test, having immediately felt comfortable with the car in Colorado.

While the Frenchman returns to Europe for the next five days, Peugeot will strip and rebuild the 208 T16 Pikes Peak.

"We've done two test sessions now and my feeling is that the car is ready," said Loeb.

"But one big question mark is the fact that many of our serious rivals have skipped the two test sessions held so far. So while I'm confident that we've done as much as we need to do, you never know what the others have up their sleeve."

The next test sessions run next week, culminating with race day on Sunday June 30.
