Andrea Bertolini joins JMW Ferrari squad for 2013 ELMS campaign
Former FIA GT1 world champion Andrea Bertolini has joined the title-winning JMW Motorsport Ferrari squad for this year's European Le Mans Series
The Italian, who is part of the pool of GT drivers retained by Ferrari, will race JMW's GTE class 458 Italia in the five-race series, starting this weekend at Silverstone. He will be partnered by Swiss Joel Camathias.
Bertolini won three FIA GT Championship titles in addition to his 2010 GT1 World success with the Vitaphone Maserati squad
"The team's results have been excellent in the past and we need to continue that legacy," he said.
"We have a good chance this season and must remain focused, because it will be a close championship."
Bertolini is stepping down to the ELMS from the World Endurance Championship, which he contested with the factory AF Corse Ferrari squad in 2012.
Camathias is also swapping to the ELMS, in which he took GT2 class honours in 2006 when it was known as the Le Mans Series, after racing in the WEC last season with the JWA-Avila Porsche team.
He will also contest this year's GT Open in an Ombra Racing Ferrari.
JMW team manager Tim Sugden said: "I am delighted to have such a high-quality driver line-up. I have known Andrea for many years, and with Joel, we have a fast, reliable driver who has already fitted in straightaway with out team."
JMW won the GTE Pro class in last year's truncated ELMS. This year there is just one pro-am class for GTE cars.
