Rallye du Var: Robert Kubica holds huge lead after second leg

Robert KubicaRobert Kubica's Rallye du Var lead is up to five minutes heading into the final day of the French event.

The Pole's nearest rival Freddy Loix crashed out during Saturday's leg, but the experienced World Rally Championship and Intercontinental Rally Challenge driver was already nearly two minutes down on Kubica before the incident.

Second place now belongs to Cedric Robert in a Super 2000 Peugeot, while Audi Le Mans driver Romain Dumas holds third in a Porsche.

The Var event was regarded as the biggest test for Kubica yet as he contests increasingly challenging rallies to assess his physical condition following his 2011 injuries.
